Life at Care Above All

Care is about more than health. It’s about enjoying each day — good food, good company, fresh air and the freedom to live life your own way.

A day at our home

Your day, your way

There’s no rigid timetable here. Residents choose how to spend their day, and our team fits care around their routines — not the other way round.

Morning

A gentle start

Residents wake when they’re ready. Carers help with washing and dressing as needed, followed by breakfast in the dining room or in their own room.

Mid-morning

Activities & interests

Group or one-to-one activities — music, crafts, gentle exercise, quizzes, or simply a good chat over a cup of tea.

Lunchtime

A freshly prepared lunch

The main meal of the day, with choices on the menu and help with eating and drinking for anyone who needs it.

Afternoon

Fresh air & visitors

Time in the garden, visits from family and friends, a favourite programme or a quiet rest.

Evening

Supper & winding down

A lighter evening meal, a warm drink and a relaxed evening, with support to get ready for bed whenever each person chooses.

Night

Care through the night

Our night team is awake and on hand throughout the night, checking on residents and responding whenever help is needed.

Activities

Something for everyone

Activities are planned around residents’ interests and abilities, and everyone is free to join in as much or as little as they like.

Music & singing

Sing-alongs, favourite songs and music sessions that lift the spirits.

Arts & crafts

Painting, colouring, knitting and seasonal craft projects.

Gentle exercise

Chair-based movement to support strength, balance and wellbeing.

Games & quizzes

Board games, cards, puzzles and quizzes to keep minds active.

Gardening & outdoors

Planting, potting and enjoying the garden when the weather allows.

Reminiscence

Photos, stories and memories shared — especially valuable in dementia care.

Celebrations

Birthdays, festivals and seasonal events celebrated together.

Faith & beliefs

Support to follow personal faith and beliefs, including visits on request.

Food & dining

Good food, made with care

Mealtimes are one of the highlights of the day. Our kitchen team prepares tasty, nutritious meals with a choice of dishes, and we take time to learn each resident’s favourites.

  • Freshly prepared meals with daily choices
  • Snacks and drinks available throughout the day
  • Special diets catered for — including diabetic, soft, pureed and fortified
  • Cultural and religious dietary needs respected
  • Help with eating and drinking where needed
  • Nutrition and hydration carefully monitored

Rooms & comfort

A room that feels like yours

We want every resident to feel at home. Residents are encouraged to bring photographs, ornaments, keepsakes and small pieces of favourite furniture to make their room their own.

  • Personalise your room with your own belongings
  • Daily housekeeping & laundry service
  • Call system to ask for help at any time
  • Comfortable lounges and dining areas
  • Garden and outdoor seating
  • Hairdressing and other services can be arranged

Family & friends

Staying close to the people you love

Family and friends are a vital part of life at our home, and we work hard to keep everyone connected.

Welcoming visits

Visitors are welcome. We simply ask that you sign in and, where possible, avoid protected mealtimes.

Keeping in touch

Help with phone and video calls for families who live further away.

Involved in care

With the resident’s consent, families can take part in care planning and reviews.

Come and see for yourself

The best way to get a feel for our home is to visit. Meet the team, see the rooms and gardens, and ask us anything.
